Analysis of solutions for the objective of zero discharge to the Mar Menor from Campo de Cartagena

On October 4, 2013 (extended in October 2018), a protocol was adopted between the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, in order to establish a framework for collaboration and coordination for the Integrated management of the Mar Menor environment.

As a result of this protocol, the Informative Project and the Environmental Impact Study of the “ Analysis of solutions for the objective of zero discharge to the Mar Menor from the Campo de Cartagena" were prepared being its promoters the General Directorate of Water of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Ministry of Water, Agriculture and Environment of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia.

The public information, for the purposes of the Environmental Impact Assessment of the aforementioned Information Project, ran from June 5 to September 18, 2018, and as a result of the allegations and mandatory reports received, the new version of the documentation below. On March 21, 2019, the aforementioned Informative Project was sent along with the rest of the file to the General Directorate of Biodiversity and Environmental Quality of the Ministry for Ecological Transition, so that as an environmental body it issued the corresponding Environmental Impact Statement (DIA).

This EIA was finally formulated on September 4, 2019 (BOE September 26) and can also be found below.
