The La Mata and Torrevieja Lagoons, belonging to the Natura 2000 Network, declared a Natural Park and RAMSAR wetlands, have been designated as a body of surface water in the category of transition waters HMWB , due to the extraction of natural products and the hydromorphological alterations it presents, derived from its use as salines.
