The LIFE + Program is a financial instrument of the European Union dedicated exclusively to the environment for the period 2007-2013. The legal basis that regulates the LIFE + program is Regulation (EC) nº 614/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council, May 23, 2007 , published in the Diario European Union Official L149 of June 9, 2007.
The general objective of these projects is to contribute to the implementation, updating and development of Community environmental policy and legislation, including the integration of the environment in other policies, in order to contribute to sustainable development.
The program is divided into three main areas: information and communication, nature and biodiversity, and environmental policy and governance. The projects cover actions in the field of water, nature conservation, climate change or waste management in all Member States.
